Preparation
Preparation is an important skill not just for sports but for all life situations. It’s simple: if you are not prepared, you will struggle to succeed. Winning Identity is committed to ensuring that every player is fully prepared for the next challenge to be faced.

PreparationScouting reports are crucial components in helping your team understand what the opponent is going to try and do to beat you. Your scouting reports are simply posted in the forum, and all the information is fed to all the players as the next game approaches. As a coach, you can see which players have viewed the scouting reports and which ones have not. You can track each player’s commitment to the team by being aware of the player’s activity on the site. From this you can determine which players are the most prepared for the upcoming opponent. Similar to the scouting reports, the game tapes related to the upcoming game get fed onto every player’s homepage and player activity can be tracked as well. How players are motivated has a major impact on how they perform. On a team with many players, each player has a different personality type, which means each player is motivated differently. Figuring out how to motivate each player can be a difficult task but Winning Identity is another tool that can help each coach motivate properly. By commenting on different sections of the site players and posting upcoming game blogs, players can get "pep-talks" all week leading up to the big game. Coaching any team is a challenging task and the better the team the more difficult it can be. Learning mental toughness is ultimately an expertise that players will take from sports and hopefully apply it as a life skill. It is an ability that begins with preparation and ends with a belief. The belief that when you look deep inside yourself, you know you can get the job done. Winning Identity plans to help your team learn this skill by achieving the following four steps of mental conditioning:
Even the fastest, strongest and smartest players will underachieve if they concentrate on the wrong things, are unable to quickly let go of the mistakes, lack self-confidence, or can't handle the pressure of competition. If you leave the mental side of performance to chance, then the players can be more vulnerable to performance problems. Utilize Winning Identity and ensure your team is focused on the right things at the outset. Winning Identity can help you systematically develop confidence and a positive, can-do attitude. ____________ Papazov, K. (2005). Motivation and Psychological Preparation. Fiba Assist Magazine.
